School! Late Nights!! SHOWTIME!!!

This year has been an adventure. So far I’ve had my downs, but I have my ups too. Trying to finish homework as I am getting home late from rehearsal is always quite a ride.

When it comes to homework and shows, the struggle is real. You sit down in the beginning of the rehearsal and take out your homework, but you're called to take attendance. You want to finish that one problem for Math, but then you‘re needed to spike a set piece.

I always try to do my homework when I know I won’t be needed. I ask first before I assume and start taking out my entire life.

When working on a production, you will often tend to feel under pressure. Just play the song Under Pressure by Vanilla Ice and you‘ll be fine.

I’M JOKING!

You can do that if you want, but take a moment and reflect on your job and purpose in the production. Take a breath. Leave the theatre, if you need to take a walk and then come back. As you walk, think about what you need to do and execute those tasks like a boss.

Working on show after show often gets draining. By the end of the school year, I’m tired and feel as though the days drag me through.

However, I sign myself up for these shows to enjoy the experience with my friends. I get the opportunity to make new friends that I never thought I would get close to.

I say, if you’re working on a show in high school or a show in general, take in the atmosphere around you. Take the time to get to know some people and appreciate the amazing talent that encircles you every moment you are in the theatre.

*VERY IMPORTANT NOTE

Don’t forget to have fun! You signed yourself for a job, but you are human and you are allowed to have fun! Make new memories! Enjoy!
